People with disabilities who found it difficult to access information from one Internet site, will be able to search this site finding information and links about a range of disability help. Things are improving but are slow and I hope that with Disability Help Scotland, together we can make a difference
Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition.
We have over 170,000 members and are working for people with diabetes, their carers, family and friends. We represent the interests of people with diabetes by lobbying the government for better standards of care and the best quality of life. Diabetes UK spends over £5 million on research every year to improve the treatment of diabetes and we hope our research will ultimately lead to finding a cure for diabetes.
Our mission is to improve the lives of people with diabetes and to work towards a future without diabetes.
The Papworth Trust is a registered charity that helps and supports disabled people to be more independent at home or at work so they can live life to the full.
We help over 4,500 people annually including people with a physical or learning disability, sensory impairment, acquired disability, progressive illness or mental health problem.
We provide a range of specialist services covering progression, employment, housing, care and advice. We also provide training and support to employers and service providers to promote opportunities for the employment of disabled people.
Live-in care allows people to receive personalised, individual care and support in the comfort of their own homes. It is especially important for people with complex conditions to maintain their independence within familiar surroundings. The UK Live-In Care Association promotes the advantages and benefits of live in care as very few people are aware that you can receive care in the comfort of your own home.
