I am disabled and worked for Remploy for 26 years in Halifax, before being made redundant in August 2012, because of the ideal that disabled people should be able to join mainstream employment.

Ever since then I have applied for numerous jobs but I am unable to get to the interview stage. On one occasion though I applied for a job without stating my disability and guess what I GOT AN INTERVIEW!!

One example of my struggle is that Tesco have a statement on their website stating they guarantee any disabled applicants an interview, I have tried to apply for three posts and within minutes of applying I got emails back saying I was unsuccessful, even before the closing date!! I tried chasing the matter up but nobody was prepared to respond, my work coach even tried to speak to someone but was refused. The statement is still on the website!

Clearly there has been nothing put in place to improve disabled people's chances of getting a job in mainstream employment unless you know of any!!! Equal Opportunities is clearly not working!!

I am getting poorly with the stress, I have a mortgage to pay like everyone else and feel worthless because I have always earned my own money and now that has been taken away from me through no fault of my own.

Please can you help me in anyway or put me in touch with someone who can, particularly employers who specialise with employing disabled people.

I am really starting to lose my self worth and want to start EARNING my own money again, benefits are something I don't want to spend the rest of my working life on enough is enough!!!
