I was wondering if you would be interested in an amazing opportunity that is available through the National trust’s Passport to your Future project.

If you would like the chance to learn how to engage with and look after visitors to one of our beautiful houses or heritage sites; learn specialist skills in how to bring the spirit of these historic places alive; find out how to give excellent customer service and run a National Trust business, then this maybe the opportunity for them.

We are contacting you to let you know that the
National Trust recruitment for the Passport to your Future Visitor Experience trainees is live.

If you were to become a Trainee on this scheme we would give you the skills to start a career path in Visitor Experience in the indoor or outdoor heritage industry.
You would learn these skills from an expert team based at a National Trust property and would join courses run nationally through the Passport to your Future project.
The properties that are involved in this fifth intake of the Passport to your Future scheme are:-
Dunwich Heath Suffolk East England
Attingham Park Shrewsbury Midlands
Beningbrough Hall & Gardens Yorkshire
Fermanagh Properties Northern Ireland
Knightshayes Devon South West England
Sutton House Hackney London
Claydon House Buckinghamshire South East England
Firstly please look at our web site www.passporttoyourfuture.org.uk It has been rewritten for this fifth intake and will give you all the information you need.
Secondly we would like to invite you to a Taster day at your chosen property.
This’ll be a perfect opportunity for you to get a better idea of what it’s like to be a Passport to your Future trainee and to do a Heritage Skills Passport. You’ll find out more about what we do across the whole Trust, and you’ll find out about the opportunities that are available for you at the property if you were a trainee. The Heritage Skills Passport is hands-on from the start, and that’s what the taster day will be like too – you’ll be able to explore this amazing historic place and find out how we look after our visitors and give them amazing experiences. There’ll be activities for you to try out that’ll give you a really good insight of what you’d be doing as a trainee. You’ll also get to meet the team, and ask any questions you have about what support you’ll get in your role and other ways we can help you.
There will be one Taster day at each property and these are in the first two weeks of September.
To apply to go on a Taster day, you will need to visit our web site www.passporttoyourfuture.org.uk
Read all about the programme and choose which property you would like to visit. Go to the relevant property page and here you will be able to apply to go on the Taster day. There are limited places on the Taster day and if you have been awarded a place, the property will contact you and let you know the date and time. If they are unable to offer you a place, they will offer you a free ticket to visit the property in the week before or after the Taster day. You can apply to go on one Taster day at one property.
You will then be ready to apply for the post. The applications are open and close on the 1st October 2013. You do not have to go on a Taster day to apply.
To apply go to our web site www.passporttoyourfuture.org.uk Here you will find instructions on what to do.
The Passport to your Future programme marks a step change for us and we’re determined to use this opportunity to actively break down the barriers traditionally faced by some people when looking for a job and encourage more people to give the heritage sector a go. For us, it’s passion and enthusiasm that matter, not necessarily experience or qualifications. We’d particularly like to hear from you if you have a disability, a lack of formal qualifications, have been long-term unemployed or are from an under-represented ethnic minority group. These roles are designed for those who may not have formal qualifications or faced challenges when trying to move into the workplace. If you have more formal qualifications or skills you may prefer to visit our website www.nationaltrustjobs.org.uk where we are have a variety of roles available across various levels and sectors.

Good luck and we hope to hear from you soon.
Claire
