BBC Wales Production Unit aims to be the best value and most creative producer of programmes in the UK, fostering a dynamic, flexible culture which supports high quality and innovative production. There are currently over 400 staff in the Unit. The role of a scheduler is to schedule all resources - labour, facilities and equipment - using current pan BBC scheduling tools. The role will focus on post production.
This role will work as part of a team alongside Lead Schedulers and Production Unit Co-ordinator with responsibilities for ensuring that business workload is met by suitably skilled and experienced staff through liaising closely with both programme teams and the business community. With the expectation of administering and managing all documentations associated with this process.
We are looking for an individual with excellent skills in short term/ long term planning as well proven organisational skills. Attention to detail is paramount, given the high numbers of staff working across the Unit. In addition, you will also need to be able to effectively communicate with a range of staff and senior programme-makers, sometimes in pressurised situations. Experience of scheduling staff and facilities as well as knowledge of the European Working Time Directive is required.
