Secondment or fixed term contract for up to 18 months
£53,256 - £65,657 per annum plus enhancements for On Call
An exciting job opportunity for a secondment or a fixed term contract to the Directorate Manager (Children’s Services) has arisen, as the current postholder has been seconded to the Department of Health. It is a particularly exciting time in Herefordshire with the further development of the “deep partnership arrangement” between Herefordshire County Council and the PCT, and the Transitions Project work which is looking at the options for the potential integration of PCT Provider Services, with Adult Social care provided services and Hereford Hospitals NHS Trust. Likewise the Children’s Trust is currently consulting on the configuration of its existing services and the locality structures that support it. Reflecting the close working relationships that already exist within Herefordshire, the Directorate Manager will work with both NHS Herefordshire Provider Services and the Director of Children’s Services for Herefordshire County Council.
The post of Directorate Manager - Children’s Services will be part of the senior management team responsible for managing and developing a complex range of ‘directly provided’ community and specialist services, including some in-patient services. The specific portfolio of work entails the management of an 5.8 million budget, relating to a wide range of services including Health Visiting, School Nursing, Children with Disabilities, including a children’s in-patient respite service, Administration of Child Health IT & Administration, Community Paediatricians, Speech and Language Therapy services, and the Traveller’s Health Project The post holder will also be required to participate in the Senior Manager On-call Rota for the PCT Provider Services, and will be based at Belmont in Hereford.
The post holder will need to have had previous experience of operational service management, as well as the ability to work across traditional health, and social care organisational boundaries. They will need to be dynamic and enthusiastic, with excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy the challenge of working in the ever-changing NHS.
