Both posts are in a rural locality with good links to well established general practices and integrated with local authority social care services. The post holders will not be responsible for inpatient care which will reside with Inpatient and Crisis/Home Treatment Services.
There are seven junior doctors working in the service, comprising psychiatric trainees, GP trainees and Foundation year 2 trainees. These posts are attached to consultants and teams according to training needs. In addition there is funding for a middle grade doctor or equivalent to work as part of the consultant team.
The successful candidate will be expected to take an active role in junior doctor training including acting as Educational Supervisor. There is an active in-house educational programme to which all Consultants and trainees contribute.
