I have just bought a new Smarttool gradient level from The Centre for Accessible Environments. It's digital, easy to use and is available on their website. Take a look: www.cae.org.uk.

Nearly fell out my chair looking at their prices.......Shame on you CEA

The Centre for Accessible Environments www.cae.org.uk although gradlevels are no longer on their site. Tel 020 7840 0125 and they will give you information.

Not knowing knowing what the exact job is, it has been suggested that a simple robust tool for reading gradients can be made with a plumb bob swinging across a degree scale.
